Since 2005, I have been focusing on developing artistic theatre work into a social practice in China, known as ‘Interrogating Theatre’. Worked together with my theatre collective: Grass Stage, such a practice encourage people from different backgrounds to consider social and historical issues, and stimulate participator and audience to response to those issues through creative process, rehearsals, performances and post-talks and interactions among the theatre collectives. To me this residency in Swiss means a perfect opportunity to discover new approaches towards social thinking and theatre art. I am interested in initiating an intense process of reflection through workshops & public work-in-progress-presentations besides private exchanges. It would enable me to continue discussing with Swiss colleagues and seek new development in Interrogating Theatre.
