Artist in Residence at Rote Fabrik from October to December 2021

My practice is interdisciplinary that plays with different languages, ranging from installation, assemblage, movement, video, collage, sculpture, found footage, experimental film to conjure multifaceted artistic universes. I see my practice as a means to create spaces that are at once still and moving, archival and contemporary, productive and obsolete. These spaces conjure multifaceted artistic universes that take a hybrid form. I believe the heterogeneity of mundane objects of everyday life are always located in a matrix of global and local eco-systems that are ecological and economic. The objects, images, footages and references that I work with in Dhaka are shaped by those eco-systems, the lived reality and fictions as well as the global and regional exchange of values time, labor and materials. With each work I try to explore the space in between structure and ephemerality to investigate the visible and invisible forms of forces such as generated energy and life forces.

AiR project:
We live in a strange world where fiction and reality co-exist. Everyday unusual events for example, human destruction, war, migrations, death, and ecological destruction and more have become a normal phenomena and we dream for a peaceful world within political, financial and technological utopias. My project will be a poetic gesture to question these issues through experiencing everyday life. The development will be in flux and floating movement which can navigate to several direction and I shall allow these multiplicities, possibilities, miracles and chances. It would be interesting to know they interact in different time, space and situation.
